If we judge by the number of associations which are created on the periphery of the Mediterranean and the boats that sail seen, there is an undeniable enthusiasm for what we call "sails" traditional.
This very old rig, which we see the first performances from the sixth century, looks like a triangular sail, usually single, which surface extends much further back than the mast on the front. It is attached to its upper edge by what is called an "antenna" wood consists of two parts linked together. The front of the antenna with the pointed the sail is attached to the bow by two ropes that can orient and stabilize it. The antenna is movable in all directions.

La Latina Cup, which was part yours truly, using three boats 10, 50 m with a veil of 75m ². Yes, you read correctly, a single sail de75m ², the size of a large F2!
There are several elements which make surfing these boats particularly pleasant:
First, the boats needed to be fast (in fact, the more we came home from the first in the fishing industry, we had chances to sell the fish at a good price), so these boats are overpowered. Provided that good Tramontana tickles them and there is a skipper on board a little lighter these are real bombs. One day they saw land at a general assembly of the association a guy who came to learn about this here: the owner of a modern sailing yacht, to his amazement, he had been overtaken at sea by one of these boats, filled weird people screaming as his wild ...
Another nice feature about these boats: Sailing in light of the unique, the bridge is not cluttered with ropes and can wallow at his ease, he there is room to move.
Finally, these vessels can be operated at least three people and the navigation is therefore mandatory crew.
