Constipation And Fasting
Villach critique of modern art ...
Yes, I know, him again ... But because I like the articles by Paul Villach, they inspire me what do you ... They are often so stimulating their inanity called satisfied answers.
The last article dated , where the Master makes a bad grade on a "facility" of health on the steps of City Hall Mont-de-Marsan requires some reflection.
will be on "the argument from authority" that exists only in his fantasies, he confuses the authority and value on the art market, which follows criteria that have not much to see. Especially to read his "critical" one wonders if his problem is not simply to be the authority in question that we impose the canons of what is beautiful and what is not not.
Now to the second: the work undertaken.
First and contrary to his assertions, not a "pile of fixtures" that would be of any why placed there randomly. A glance, even distracted, shown with evidence: it is a construction, some items are placed on supports at different height levels, the choice of white, some toilets are cut, twisted pipes etc. ... What it does not appeal to His Eminence, it can not find the assembly passed the aesthetic is his right, but he can not handle it " of accumulation "that would have piled up there by following a" garbage strike. "
Then he criticizes both the fact that there is a message behind (and we shall see that the critical message itself) and how it is worded, the scarcity of water and wasting its use for toilets represents.
On the fact that there is a message through this kind of "Facility" button is a real problem of postmodern art.
Regis Debray in his book 'Life and death of the image, a history of Looking West ", defends the idea that the exciting work of art in the image, born in the West when the representation becomes more important than what is shown.
Somehow, in trying to operate a step backwards, ie by submitting the form to the message we want to deliver, we get from art. By focusing on content over form, there is both a retreat from a strictly artistic point of view, but also, as Luc Ferry said quite rightly in a book whose title I forget, an impasse: in fact, the visual arts are not always very effective means of conveying messages of a political nature, and then undergo competition from other forms better suited as literature, essays or dryness of scientific reports. In other words, you can criticize, from the artist who created this installation, the willingness to use his art to deliver an environmental message instead of devoting all his energy to work in the form of his "Fountain" . But in Villach knows? What does he know the work it required? He raises the question: I am an artist and I want to issue a warning cry to the waste of drinking water. How can I express it?
Certainly those who created the fountains of Rome were concerned not to do to get a message about the scarcity of water, so try this fountain of Mont-de-Marsan with the same criteria that Trevi is a mistake, and let's downright stupidity. Especially since, as pointed out rightly Clouzo this "installation", which he is not sure she claims to really like a work of art, is not intended to be permanent.
Villach not content to criticize the form, he claims also criticize the content of the message.
There, he would certainly have done better to abstain, because the issue of scarcity and access to potable water is becoming serious and growing concern. If she does not even France, there is no need to go very far to be confronted with the problem in a way that may be severe: just cross the Pyrenees, Spain.
The issue of water wastage, more more expensive, for uses that do not require perfectly legitimate and it should be noted that the creation of independent water systems, a non-drinking, inexpensive, and another is seriously contemplated drinking everywhere. His Eminence
probably unaware that this existed since the nineteenth century in a city, not least because it is Paris, which has two water circuits: one for the non-potable watering of public gardens and street cleaning and the other drinking, intended for consumption. This is one reason (but not only) for which the Parisians, unlike many other citizens of the world have a drinking water of good quality and cheap. I do not think it was a "barbaric On" ... And we'll see what will Paul Villach, if deem childish "spoiled children" use "toilets "When a liter of drinking water will be priced per liter of champagne ...
is not dwell on his charity and its approximations strange inconsistencies: in the same sentence, for example, he criticizes the" revolutionary "(Environmentalists, perhaps?) To say that water is precious and then went on a tirade has represented the luxury of access to drinking water from the 60s ...
; short, even an article based on ignorance, and where certain phrases beaufitude Master can only raise a smile. The latter include:
"How is it possible that sterile individuals are able to capture the attention [...] and even to gain authority by exhibiting their own vanity? "

White Patches Around Eyebrows
The Cassandra of Greek crisis
They made it clear that the single currency would remove the economies of each country, yet potentially very dissimilar divergent, two key weapons in economic policy, action by the exchange rate (devaluations by example) and by interest rates (to attract capital for example). Thus the only remaining adjustment variables Were the level of activity (production - and therefore income - conditioning the level of employment) and price levels.

A Vant the changeover, many observers and many economists - including myself - crying in the wilderness that a single currency was very risky in an area where economic, budgetary, tax, were not harmonized.
These Cassandras were derided, scorned and shunned the media, embarrassing their laments the magnificent outpouring of "European construction" that allowed some politicians in need of posterity to shine in the firmament of great historical European .
Greek crisis gives them unfortunately obvious reason, but it is feared, for the same questions of prestige, nobody draws the logical consequences. It will therefore probably the first in a long series of recurring problems due to the disparity of economies and the independence of national decision.

The revival of the lateen sail
If we judge by the number of associations which are created on the periphery of the Mediterranean and the boats that sail seen, there is an undeniable enthusiasm for what we call "sails" traditional.
This very old rig, which we see the first performances from the sixth century, looks like a triangular sail, usually single, which surface extends much further back than the mast on the front. It is attached to its upper edge by what is called an "antenna" wood consists of two parts linked together. The front of the antenna with the pointed the sail is attached to the bow by two ropes that can orient and stabilize it. The antenna is movable in all directions.
This veil can receive all the winds, including the face, and it is this characteristic of being able to go upwind well, which made its undeniable success for centuries. To tack, it would therefore change the antenna to the side of the mast to maintain good performance. In fact, it is very difficult or impossible to do because the length of the portion of the antenna on the front of the mast is almost always greater than the height of that mast. In tacking, the sail is then mapped onto the mast, and its yield is lower, as in the photo below.
The dhow, the felucca, the "sharp" Marseille and especially the great Catalan boat using this rig. These are weighted and deck boats without keel.
Between Sete and Barcelona, it is essentially the "boat Catalan" dominates. More and more associations to restore these boats to navigate above were created. Merely Palavas are two: La Latina Cu p and Navy tradition .
La Latina Cup, which was part yours truly, using three boats 10, 50 m with a veil of 75m ². Yes, you read correctly, a single sail de75m ², the size of a large F2!
There are several elements which make surfing these boats particularly pleasant:
First, the boats needed to be fast (in fact, the more we came home from the first in the fishing industry, we had chances to sell the fish at a good price), so these boats are overpowered. Provided that good Tramontana tickles them and there is a skipper on board a little lighter these are real bombs. One day they saw land at a general assembly of the association a guy who came to learn about this here: the owner of a modern sailing yacht, to his amazement, he had been overtaken at sea by one of these boats, filled weird people screaming as his wild ...
Another nice feature about these boats: Sailing in light of the unique, the bridge is not cluttered with ropes and can wallow at his ease, he there is room to move.
Finally, these vessels can be operated at least three people and the navigation is therefore mandatory crew.
Ah, the pleasure to tell you how to lie on the deck and watch the Mediterranean sky on which cut this huge white sail blown by the wind with the sound of the boat that cuts through the water? We forget everything, taxes payable, Agoravox, Sarkozy and the financial crisis ...
